Music Scribe provides writing and media services for artists. From social media management to professional bios, we help artists stand out, engage fans, and break through the noise to get noticed.
In addition to my work at Music Scribe, I help SongBuilder Studios develop and implement web and social media strategies for artists, bands and other creative types. I also write songs and produce music as a SongBuilder and one-third of Moran Hill Hurwitz, an award-winning country songwriting team with feature film and television placements.
Working closely with creator Michael Urbanski I helped write in-game and cinematic character and NPC dialogue for Damnation (Xbox 360, PS3, and PC). I wrote, edited, and co-produced (with actor/director Frank A. Lama) the independent feature film Swarm of the Snakehead, starring horror icon Gunnar Hansen. Frank and I also wrote the interactive training video BLASTER for U.S. Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama.
I have taught writing, rhetoric, and literature at the University of Houston, Houston Community College, Writers in the Schools, and Johns Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth in Los Angeles. While in Houston, I wrote about art and music for the Houston Press and was a poetry editor of the literary journal Gulf Coast. I was also in an awesome band.
I have a B.A. in English and Philosophy from Franklin & Marshall College, earned a Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Sarah Lawrence College, and was a Teaching Fellow in the Graduate Program in Creative Writing at The University of Houston.
Thanks to the Maryland State Arts Council for Individual Artist Awards in fiction and poetry.
